Thanks to Servantrip I had the opportunity to have such a wonderful time in Dar es Salaam with my local guide Mikidadi, who took me to the most interesting places and was so knowledgeable about the history of the city and the local culture and traditions. I highly recommend him as a guide!
Visiting Dar es Salaam is a unique experience that you cannot miss if you go to Tanzania. Although the capital of the country is Dodoma, Dar es Salaam is the largest city and the most populous of this great country, which is also considered as the main economic and educational center of the country.
Founded in 1860 as a summer residence of Sultan Zanzibar, Dar es Salaam is known today as a cosmopolitan city, metropolitan and commercial capital of Tanzania. That's why one can easily notice a lot of movement of cars, traffic, workers, merchants and street vendors during the day. The official language is Swahili, although it is common to find people who speak and understand English. But being a city with so much history and culture, with complicated communication system and limited services for tourists, it is recommended to have the services of a local tour guide, to be able to visit Dar es Salaam, its chaotic streets and monuments, as did our client Francesca, an Italian blogger, responsible for the website "I Viaggi di Fraintesa". We’ll tell you her pleasant experience visiting Dar es Salaam.
Servantrip Experience: Dar es Salaam made easy Francesca, an Italian blogger well known both in Italy and in Spain, traveled to Tanzania and spent a few days in Dar es Salaam. She decided to book for one of our tour guides, to walk around the city and learn more about its culture and history. During the tour she visited many important monuments, including the National Museum and its Gardens. She also had the opportunity to know the work of art in memory of the victims of 1998 bombing in front of the US Embassy. She also took advantage of the guided tour to explore the authentic life of the locals, and visiting one of the well known places, the fish market. Francesca did enjoy her stay in Dar es Salaam in the company of Mikidadi, a local guide committed to tourists to show them the best of his city. She was able to live a unique experience without worrying about missing seeing remarkable monuments or indispensable sites, getting into less secure areas or having to plan and try to learn everything on her own. What our client, Francesca, had to say Thanks to Servantrip I had the opportunity to have such a wonderful time in Dar es Salaam with my local guide Mikidadi, who took me to the most interesting places and was so knowledgeable about the history of the city and the local culture and traditions.
